Dean acoustic guitar
The Exotic KOA
Dean Acoustic Guitar is very well made, and the
finish is beautiful. The strings that it came set up with are D'Addarios, and feels good to play right out of the
box. The instrument has a thin neck and excellent low action,it's just an easy instrument to play, and very
comfortable even over a long session. Crisp tones with a rich, full bodied sound would be the best way to describe
the sound quality. It sounds better than guitars twice this price. The electronics are also top-notch. The
built-in tuner is quite accurate, and the pickup sounds very realistic when run through amps and PA systems, unlike
some cheap acoustics that sound tinny and flat. The EQ controls allow for precision adjusting, but even in the
default 12 o'clock positions the guitar sounds great. This type of Dean guitars is a
steal, has a very warm sound, and sounds great both unplugged and plugged in as well. It also has a very
striking appearance and beautiful looking instrument. Overall a great value.
Playmate AE 4 String
A Dean coustic Electric Bass (Natural) has the bass
that sounds great, the guitar gives off a great tone, if you want jam acoustically with some people and have a
good sound, this is perfect dean acoustic
guitar for you, the bass is very easy to play but has a
few buzzing spots which is normal for an acoustic bass. Action is great and plays very nicely, for an acoustic bass
this one is really nice.Picking up a little fret buzz with the stock strings, just upgraded them and it helped, a
little action adjustment should help.considering the cost this instrument far exceeded any expectations. the only
caveat; it's scale length make it a little too long to fit in a standard hard case or gig bag.
The Playmate
Cutaway 5 String Dean Acoustic Electric Bass (Natural) can certainly
keep up with acoustic guitars in a small room,it's very thin sounding. The Piezo is good on this bass, but the
preamp lacks, there is no battery inside so the gain volume is no good for amps.you can throw a 3 band EQ preamp
blender with the ability to run on phantom power w/built in XLR/ 1/4 combo jacks, you can include a new soundhole
pickup, new piezo pickup like the artec model PP-537, and condenser mic. The new electronics from ARTEC is
unbelieveable, makes a difference in sound, the magnetic pickup however is specifically designed for acoustic
guitar. It will amplifiy the EAD strings but the B and G strings are slightly more quite than the others however
the piezo makes up for the difference in volume. A great buy for the price, this bass has a great tone unplugged,
especially for the price, and with some eq tinkering on your amp delivers clean booming licks. The frets are good,
the fingerboard comfortable.
